Paint Splatter Fashion

Posted July 20, 2009 Along with many other 80s fashion trends that are making a big comeback, paint splatter prints have re-entered the world of fashion.  We remember the mid-80s Esprit jeans that featured paint splatter patterns. What could have been cooler? Now, the look goes slightly more upmarket with dresses by Yves Saint Laurent, DVF and Dolce & Gabbana. UPDATE: April 11, 2011 — Since first reporting on the reemergence of paint splatter fashions in the Summer of 2009, we continue to see this very 80s look. A recent trip to the beach yielded several examples. We saw girls that had created their own paint splatter fashion moment on white Nike running shorts. It worked. We also saw this paint splatter tunic (below) in a boutique in Seaside, Florida. If you’ve ever wanted to go Pollack on your Spring/Summer wardrobe, now is the time.
