Logos, From the 80s to Today

Who doesn’t love to see present time logos, from the old days. I know the 80s seems like it was just yesterday but it has been almost three full decades since the last year of the 80s.

These throwbacks are still around today, but their logos looked different in the 80s than they do now and it’s safe to say in another 30 years, they will look different, too.

Logos, From the 80s to Today

MTVmtv

MTV debuted in 1981 and it’s still running today. This channel is more full of reality tv now than back when it first came out. Originally, it featured lots of music, music videos and everything music related.

Reebok

Reebok has actually been around since 1895, if you can believe it. The shoes were first sold under a sister company named JW Foster and Sons. As of 1958, the shows were sold as Reebok. I love the 80s logo though, how retro.

7Up images

This drink has been around since October 1929 but it hasn’t always been called 7Up. When it was first released it was called Bib-label Lithiated Lemon-lime Soda, if that’s even a name. The 80s logo is different than though while this 80s logo is, like totally 80s.

Pizza Hutimages (1)

Pizza Hut debuted in 1958 in Wichita, Kansas and has been gaining popularity ever since. The logo has changed and lots of people think the product has changed, too. I, too, remember a different Pizza Hut from when I was growing up until now, but just like the logo, times have changed.

And of course, Apple. When Apple first came out in the late 70s, it was all about the computer. Now, it’s Ipods, Iphones and other products are popular across the board. The outline has stayed the same but the colors are certainly different. 80s apple was a rainbow and todays Apple is, well not.

It’s fun to see older products and how they (and their logos) have changed throughout the years. But I know I’m not alone when I say we would all welcome back some 80s flair in 2018.
