80s Party Songs

80s party ideas for music and gamesYour best bet for a well rounded and totally gnarly 80s party mix is to get one of the very good 80s box sets that are available now. Like Totally 80s owns and can recommend whole-heartedly the Like, Omigod! (shown in the middle below) set put out by Rhino Records and the 80s Box series. We have included these great 80s music compilations below to purchase. If you have satellite radio, all you need to do is just tune into an 80s station, the 80s on 8, (commercial-free) and kick it. If that is not an option, you can also do one of the following things to get your 80s party songs lined up and ready to Fight For Your Right . . . to Par-tay.

  1. Make several mix CDs from stuff in your collection, CDs borrowed from friends, and songs gotten from iTunes to fill in the gaps. You’ll want to have enough to have 4-5 hours of play time.
  2. Download 80s iMixes and create an 80s playlist for your iPod.
  3. Set up a Pandora 80s station and party like it’s 1999.
  4. Find a Spotify 80s mix and bust an 80s move.

80s Party Games

Our favorite 80s party game is Pin the Glove on Michael. You will need a Michael Jackson poster; these can be had off of ebay for between $6.00-$20.00. This 80s party game does require a little creativity to create the sequined glove for pinning, but the result is worth the work. We recommend cutting out a glove from a sheet of poster board and then gluing silver sequins or glitter all over it. 80s trivia games are a great way to kick off an 80s party. Trivial Pursuit now has an 80s edition and it is perfect for a group game. You can divide into teams and duke it out 80s style. Buy the game here: Trivial Pursuit: Totally 80s. You can also buy the I Love the 80s board game developed by VH1. Be sure to have some great 80s-themed prizes on hand for the winners. You can use the 80s party ideas shown on the favors section of this site for some prize ideas. Contact us to let us know what other 80s party games you have tried.
